Luth.

Luth. means Lutheran, the Protestant church that grew from Martin Luther's Reformation, as in Ev. Luth. Church.

Lutheranism arose from the work of Martin Luther, the German reformer, in the 16th century, and is also called Evangelical Lutheranism. So Ev. Luth. in a church name means Evangelical Lutheran.

A Luth. entry tells you which kind of church records to look for. Lutherans practice baptism and confirmation, so look for those entries in the records of the congregation named.
