Presb.
Presb. means Presbyterian, a Protestant church governed by elders, as in Presb. Church or a religion column.
Presbyterian churches are named for their government by elders, called presbyters. Most trace their roots to the Church of Scotland or to English dissenters.
A Presb. entry tells you which kind of church records to look for, such as the minutes of the church session, the board of elders that ran a Presbyterian congregation.
