Extra-uterine pregnancy
Extra-uterine pregnancy meant a pregnancy growing outside the womb, usually in a tube, which could rupture and bleed fatally; today it is called ectopic.
Wikipedia says an ectopic pregnancy, also called extrauterine pregnancy, is one in which the embryo attaches outside the uterus, most often in a fallopian tube.
The 1911 Census Bureau manual lists extrauterine gestation, ectopic gestation and tubal pregnancy under accidents of pregnancy, and IPUMS has ectopic pregnancy in its code for accidents of pregnancy.
