Gall stones

Gall stones were hard stones formed in the gall bladder or bile passages; old records also call them biliary calculi.

Webster's 1913 defines a gallstone as a concretion formed in the gall bladder or bile passages. Doctors called them biliary calculi, the name IPUMS and the 1911 Census Bureau manual use for the title.

They are different from the stone and gravel of the kidney and bladder.
