Gincey

Gincey is an old nickname for Jane, found in American records of the 1700s and 1800s.

Gincey is a pet form of Jane that a Vita Brevis guide from American Ancestors lists among the female nicknames met in American research of the 1700s to early 1900s.

The same woman can be Jane in one record and Gincey in the next, for example a birth under one name and a marriage under the other. Match age, place and relatives before you join the two.

As seen in a record1850 census; her 1838 marriage record calls her Jane
Gincey Oddie, 31, F, S.C.
