Kit
Kit is an old nickname for Christopher, found in American records of the 1700s and 1800s.
Kit is a short form of Christopher. Charlotte Yonge lists Kit, Kester and Chris as the English shortenings of the long name.
A gravestone or a family Bible may say Kit while a will or a deed says Christopher. Search indexes under both forms so you do not miss him.
