Lige

Lige was a nickname for Elijah in American records of the 1700s and 1800s.

Lige, also written Lije, is a short form of Elijah found on the Connecticut State Library's list of nicknames used in the 18th and 19th centuries.

In a search, try both names. An index may list him only as Lige, while his baptism or marriage record gives Elijah.
