Daily AncestorMelia
Melia is a nickname for Amelia, so the same person may be Melia in one record and Amelia in another.
Melia is a short form of Amelia. The name was also used in other languages, so not every Melia in a record was an Amelia.
In a search, try both names. An index may list her only as Melia, while her baptism or marriage record gives Amelia.
As seen in a recordGravestone, 1841; her husband's will calls her Amelia
Melia, wife of Ira Gedney, died July 8, 1841, aged 61 years
