Artificial flower maker
An artificial flower maker made imitation flowers of cloth, paper, wax or other materials for decoration.
Artificial flowers have been made of painted linen, metals, paper, silkworm cocoons, feathers, wax and shells, and later of plastic, for commercial and home decoration.
Some of the work was done at home for a factory. The 1940 census instructions say a person working at home for an outside employer was to be entered with the work and the words at home, as flower-maker at home, with artificial flower factory in the industry column.
As seen in a recordOccupation and industry columns of the 1910 to 1940 census
