Brazier

A brazier was a worker who made or repaired articles of brass, such as kettles, candlesticks and fittings.

A brazier shaped and soldered brass and sometimes copper into household and ship fittings. The same word also names a metal pan for burning coals, but as an occupation it means the brass worker.

Braziers appear in colonial and early federal records and in early city directories.
