Confectioner

A confectioner made or sold sweets: candy and sugar goods, and often sweet pastries and cakes as well.

Confectionery covers two overlapping trades: sweet baked goods such as pastries and cakes, and sugar sweets such as candies, candied nuts and chocolates. In the United States the sugar side is simply called candy making.

A confectioner might make the goods, sell them, or both, so the title can mean a candy maker in a shop or factory or a storekeeper.
