Corsetiere
A corsetiere made corsets or fitted them for customers, usually a woman working in a shop, a factory or her own business.
For most of the 1800s and early 1900s women wore corsets daily, and good fit mattered. Corsetieres measured customers, made corsets to order or adjusted ready-made ones.
The French form came into English use in the 1800s. Older records may call the same trade staymaker, since corsets were long known as stays.
