Cutler
A cutler made, sharpened or sold knives, scissors, razors and other cutting tools.
Cutlers forged and ground blades and fitted handles, or sold and sharpened them. The English city of Sheffield has been famous for its cutlery since the 1600s.
In factory towns of the later 1800s the trade split into grinders, polishers and handle makers, and cutlery works employed whole neighborhoods.
As seen in a recordOccupation column of the 1850 to 1880 census
