Teller
A teller was a bank clerk who received deposits and paid out money at the counter.
Teller comes from an older sense, one who counts. In American banking the teller worked at a station behind the counter, handling customers' cash and checks, taking deposits and paying out money.
A teller can also be a person who counts votes. The 1900 census instructions warned enumerators not to confuse a bank cashier with a cashier in a store, so bank jobs should be recorded with care.
