exrx.
Exrx. (also exx.) is short for executrix, a woman named in a will to carry out its terms.
Exrx. and exx. stand for executrix, the older word for a female executor. Wives were often named executrix of their husbands' wills, alone or alongside a son.
A woman who took up the role when the will was proved was alive at that date, which helps date her own death. Being named in the will also shows that the testator trusted her to handle land and debts.
