Ky.
In a census birthplace column, Ky. is the abbreviation for Kentucky.
Ky. is an older abbreviation of Kentucky, used long before the two letter postal codes. Census takers were allowed to abbreviate state names in the place of birth column, so abbreviated state names are common in the birthplace column of nineteenth century census pages.
Ken. and Kent. were also used. Kentucky was part of Virginia until 1792, so people born there before statehood may show either Va. or Ky. in different records.
