Messrs.

Messrs. is the plural of Mr., used when addressing or naming two or more men, often business partners.

Messrs. comes from the French messieurs and serves as the plural of Mr. You meet it in letters, newspaper notices and business records, such as "Messrs. Hart & Bell, merchants."

When it heads a list of names in a notice, those men often worked or appeared together: partners in a firm, members of a committee or brothers in a family business.
