R.C.
R.C. in a record means Roman Catholic, the Catholic Church in communion with the pope in Rome.
R.C. is a common short form of Roman Catholic in genealogical records, such as R.C. Church, R.C. cemetery or a religion column. The term sets the Catholic Church in union with the pope apart from other groups that call themselves catholic.
An R.C. entry tells you which kind of church records to look for: those of a Catholic parish.
