Epithelioma

Epithelioma was an older medical name for a cancer arising in the skin or the lining of an organ, often written for cancers of the lip, face or tongue.

Webster's 1913 defines epithelioma as a malignant growth containing epithelial cells, also called epithelial cancer. Wiktionary gives it as any tumor that starts in the epithelium, the tissue that covers skin and lines organs.

The 1911 Census Bureau manual names epithelioma beside carcinoma and sarcoma as the exact terms a doctor should use, with the part of the body first affected.
