Pleuropneumonia

Pleuropneumonia meant pneumonia together with pleurisy, inflammation of both the lung and its lining; the same word named a deadly cattle disease.

Webster's 1913 defines pleuropneumonia as inflammation of the pleura and lungs, a combination of pleurisy and pneumonia, and notes that it also named a contagious, fatal lung plague of cattle.

On a human death record it describes a chest infection that reached both the lung and its lining. Wiktionary gives the same two senses.
