Peripneumony

Peripneumony, or peripneumonia, was an older medical word for pneumonia; by 1913 Webster's dictionary marked it as going out of use.

The word comes through Latin and French from Greek, joining peri, around, with the word for the lungs. Webster's 1913 defines peripneumony simply as pneumonia and marks it as going out of use.

On a record it means the same as lung fever or inflammation of the lungs, written in more learned language.
