Eheleute
Eheleute means "married couple"; in German records it introduces a husband and wife together, often as the parents of a child.
Eheleute joins Ehe (marriage) and Leute (people). A baptism entry may name the parents as die Eheleute Peter Klaus und Eva geb. Rupp, which tells you the parents were married to each other when the child was born.
The word for one spouse is Ehemann (husband) or Ehefrau (wife). Eheleute is always plural, so if you see it, two people are meant even when the wife's name is squeezed onto the next line.
