Appraisement

An appraisement is a valuation of property; in probate it is the list of a dead person's goods with the value set on each by appointed appraisers.

Appraisement simply means the act of appraising, or setting a value. In estate files it is the valuation made by the appraisers named in the record, who went through the property and priced each item.

Note the appraisers by name, as they may turn up elsewhere in your research. The appraisement is often combined with the inventory.
