Codicil

A codicil is a later addition to a will that changes, adds to or revokes part of it without replacing the whole will.

A codicil is a supplement signed and witnessed like a will. It might add a newborn grandchild, change an executor or cancel a gift, while leaving the rest of the will in force.

Codicils are often filed with the will and can show family changes in the testator's last months, such as a death or a marriage.

As seen in a recordWill recorded in a county will book, 1800s
Codicil: whereas my son Isaac has died since the making of my will, I give his share to his children.
