Grantee
The grantee is the person who receives land or property in a deed; the person giving it is the grantor.
The grantee is the buyer or receiver in a deed. Grantee indexes list people who acquired land, which can show when a family first arrived in a county.
In federal land patents, the grantee is the person who received the land from the United States, the first private owner of that tract.
