Lot

A lot is a measured parcel of land, usually numbered on a town plat or survey, as in lot 14 in the town of Salem.

A lot is a tract or parcel of land, usually given a number on a town plan or survey plat. Town lots were small parcels for houses and shops; rural surveys and subdivisions numbered lots as well.

A deed that says only lot 14 needs the plat to be understood. Look for the plat in the recorder's office or in the deed books.
