Daily AncestorCindy
Cindy stood for Lucinda or Cynthia in many American records of the 1700s and 1800s.
Cindy is a short form of Lucinda and of Cynthia.
If a search for Lucinda finds nothing, try Cindy, and the reverse. Treat a match as a lead and confirm it with age, birthplace and family members. Because Cindy served for more than one name, see which full name the same woman carries in other records.
As seen in a record1850 census; her 1835 marriage record calls her Lucinda
Cindy Overstreet, 34, F, Ky.
