Gerty
Gerty was a nickname for Gertrude in American records of the 1700s and 1800s.
Gerty is a pet form of Gertrude. The Connecticut State Library's list of nicknames used in the 18th and 19th centuries gives Gerty as a short form of Gertrude.
In a search, try both names. An index may list her only as Gerty, while her baptism or marriage record gives Gertrude.
As seen in a record1880 census; her 1873 baptism calls her Gertrude
