Jinny

Jinny is an old pet form of Virginia, so look for the same person under Virginia as well.

Jinny is chiefly a pet form of Virginia, and sometimes of Eugenia or Genevieve. It sounds the same as Ginny, which the Connecticut State Library's list of 18th and 19th century nicknames pairs with Virginia, so search both spellings.

Do not take Jinny and Virginia for two different people too quickly. Compare ages, places and the names of relatives to confirm that both names belong to one woman.
