hjemmedøbt
Hjemmedøbt means "baptized at home": an emergency baptism of a weak newborn, confirmed later by the priest in church if the child lived.
If a newborn looked sickly or likely to die, the baptism could be done at home by the father, the midwife or even the mother. Church books often note the home baptism, and if the child survived, the priest confirmed the baptism in church at a later date.
Modern Norwegian spells it hjemmedøpt, and the act is hjemmedåp. This confirmation of a baptism is not the same as konfirmasjon, which came between about 13 and 18. If a hjemmedøbt child does not appear again, check the burial list for the following weeks.
