Basket-maker

A basket-maker wove baskets, and sometimes mats and furniture, from willow, splints, cane or other pliable materials.

Basketry can be made from almost anything that bends: willow, oak and pine splints, straw, grasses, vines and more. It is one of the most widespread crafts in human history, practiced as a rural trade and by many Indigenous peoples known for their own basket-weaving traditions.

Basket makers and basket weavers mean the same thing.
