Falconer
A falconer bred, trained and flew falcons or hawks to hunt game.
Falconry is hunting wild animals with a trained bird of prey. Strictly, a falconer flies a falcon, while an austringer keeps goshawks and similar hawks. The sport was also called hawking.
Because hawker came to mean a traveling street seller, the words falconer and falconry now cover most hunting with trained birds of prey. In an old record a hawker is far more likely to be a peddler than a falconer.
