Glover
A glover made or sold gloves, usually of leather, cutting and stitching them by hand or in a glove factory.
Fine leather gloves took skill to cut so that they stretched to fit. Glove making grew into a factory trade in the 1800s, with cutters, sewers and finishers, and much of the sewing was put out to women working at home.
If several neighbors are glovers, you are probably looking at a glove-making town, and the women may be listed as glove sewers or makers.
