Furrier

A furrier made, repaired, cleaned or sold garments of fur, such as coats, collars, muffs and hats.

Furriers bought dressed pelts and cut and sewed them into garments, or remodeled and stored customers' furs. In large cities the trade employed many immigrant workers in shops and small factories.

In old British army records a furrier could also be the man who found lodging for troops, but that sense is rare. In an American occupation column it means the fur trade.
