Higgler
A higgler was a traveling dealer who bought farm produce, especially eggs, butter and poultry, to sell in town.
Wiktionary marks the word archaic and defines it as an itinerant trader, especially one dealing in dairy produce and poultry. It comes from higgle, to haggle, and so also means a person who bargains for lower prices.
In Jamaica the word is still in use for a seller of small produce or wares, much like a huckster.
