Kalsominer
A kalsominer, also spelled calciminer, coated walls and ceilings with kalsomine, a cheap white or tinted wash made from chalk or lime.
Kalsomine, or calcimine, was a kind of whitewash used on plaster walls and ceilings in homes, schools and offices. It was cheaper than oil paint and easy to renew, so kalsominers did a lot of spring cleaning work.
The trade often went with house painting and paper hanging, and a man might be listed under any of the three in different years.
As seen in a recordOccupation column of the 1900 to 1940 census
