Plasterer
A plasterer spread plaster over walls and ceilings, smoothing the finish coat and sometimes casting decorative moldings.
A plasterer covered interior walls and ceilings with plaster, often laid over thin wooden strips called laths nailed with small gaps between them so the plaster could grip. Skilled plasterers also made decorative moldings on ceilings and walls.
The 1930 and 1940 census instructions name plasterers among craftsmen who work with their own tools and should be returned as such, not as contractors.
