Vintner
A vintner was a wine merchant; in later and American use the word also means a winemaker.
The word comes through French from Latin vinetarius, wine dealer, and replaced an earlier English form, vinter. In older English records a vintner sold wine, and in medieval London vintners were among the more important citizens.
In American English vintner is also used for a winemaker, the person who crushes and presses grapes, watches over fermentation and ages the wine, so check the industry column for which is meant.
