wyrobnik
Wyrobnik is an old Polish word for a day laborer, a person who hired himself out for physical work; wyrobnica for a woman.
Wyrobnik is dated in this sense: a person who hired out for various kinds of manual work, paid by the day or job. Old word lists translate it as dayworker or laborer, and najemnik, a hired hand, is a synonym.
In records it points to a family that lived by wage work, ranked below gospodarz, who ran his own farm. In modern Polish the word survives as a put-down for someone who works without care, only for money.
