F
F in the 1900 to 1920 census home columns means owned free of mortgage, or a farm home, depending on the column.
In 1900 and 1910 two home columns could both hold an F. In the free or mortgaged column, F meant the owned home was fully paid for. In the farm or house column, F meant a farm home, with a matching farm schedule. The 1920 census kept F for owned free.
So a line reading O, F, F means an owned farm with no mortgage. Everywhere else on the sheet F is female, in the sex column.
