M2
M2 in the 1910 census marital column means married more than once; M1 means a first marriage.
The 1910 census asked married people whether this was their first marriage. The enumerator wrote M1 for a first marriage and M2 for a second or later one, next to the number of years in the present marriage.
An M2 husband with a young wife and older children may mean the children are from an earlier wife. Check the mother's count of children born and living to sort out whose children are whose.
