nr.
nr. in a city directory address means near, as in nr. the mill; in some genealogical lists nr. means none recorded or not recorded.
City directory keys give nr for near, used to place a home by a nearby landmark, as in res nr the saw mill. The Bay City directory of 1886-7 and other directory glossaries list it this way.
Genealogical abbreviation lists also give nr. for none recorded or not recorded, and one even lists naturalized. So in an address it means near, but in a table of dates or facts it may mean nothing was found.
