s'd

s'd in a deed, will or court record means said: the person or thing already named earlier in the document.

Clerks shortened said to s'd in legal documents, as in the s'd John Moore. It points back to someone or something already named, just like aforesaid.

It is not an initial or part of a name. When you transcribe a deed, read s'd as said and make sure you link it to the right person named earlier.
