vide
Vide is Latin for see; in a record or index it points you to another page or entry, as in vide p. 40.
Vide is the Latin imperative see. Clerks and compilers used it to send the reader to another page, book or entry, as in vide Will Book C, p. 12. It is often shortened to v. and appears in indexes, marginal notes and older genealogies.
Follow the pointer. A vide note in a margin may lead to a later correction, a related deed or the record of a second marriage.
