Cerebral hemorrhage
Cerebral hemorrhage meant bleeding inside the brain from a burst blood vessel; statisticians counted it together with apoplexy.
Wiktionary defines cerebral hemorrhage as bleeding inside the brain from a ruptured blood vessel. The 1911 Census Bureau manual titled one group cerebral haemorrhage, apoplexy, and placed under it brain stroke, stroke of apoplexy and clot on brain.
Webster's 1913 says apoplexy was by then usually limited to loss of consciousness from bleeding or other damage within the brain, so the two words often stand for the same death.
