Coronary thrombosis
Coronary thrombosis meant a clot blocking an artery that feeds the heart muscle, leading to what we now call a heart attack.
Wiktionary defines coronary thrombosis as a clot blocking blood flow in a coronary artery, leading to myocardial infarction. Wikipedia notes the two terms are sometimes used as synonyms, though not exactly the same.
American physician James B. Herrick published a landmark article in 1912 proposing that a clot in a coronary artery caused the signs of a heart attack, and that it was not always fatal.
