7bre
7bre is an old short form of septembre, September; 8bre is October, 9bre November, and 10bre or Xbre December.
The number comes from the name itself. September was the seventh month of the old Roman year, which began in March, so 7bre is September even though it is the ninth month of our calendar.
The forms were common enough in the 1800s that an 1834 commentary on French notarial law told notaries not to use them in deeds. FamilySearch lists them among the month forms found in French records.
