geboren
Geboren is German for "born"; in a church book or civil register it comes before the birth date, as in geboren den 3. März 1851.
Geboren is the past participle of gebären, to give birth. German baptism entries often give two dates, geboren for the birth and getauft for the baptism, and the two can be days apart, so check which date you copy into your tree.
On gravestones and in registers it is usually cut to geb. After a married woman's name, geborene (geb.) introduces her maiden name instead of a date.
