caementarius

Caementarius is Latin for a mason or stonemason, a builder of walls; caementarii means of the mason.

Caementarius comes from caementum, rubble or rough stone pieces. Dictionaries give mason, stonemason, stonecutter and wall builder, and also worker in concrete.

In a register it is the father's or groom's trade. Wiktionary lists cementarius among other forms, so check both spellings in an index.
