Deed of gift
A deed of gift transfers property without payment, often from a parent to a child; the consideration is usually love and affection.
A deed of gift transfers ownership of land, livestock or goods without any payment. Instead of a price, the deed often gives love and affection as the reason.
Deeds of gift are valuable because parents used them to settle property on children during their lifetime. The deed may say my son or my daughter and her husband, proving a relationship that a will might never state.
